Once the camera detected I’m shooting a scene with blue sky, it immediately adjusted the saturation, contrast and you can see there is quite noticeable difference between the two photos that were took within a few seconds. Next generation colour sensors (RYYB as opposed to RGGB) claim to deliver 40% more light onto camera sensors, while AI auto-adjustment software and the Kirin processor work in tandem to adjust the camera settings for every single shot. Absolute ZERO performance issues past setting up where you are bombarded with bloatware, and I play a fair few heavy CPU games like Flycorp and Minecraft at high video settings. The Huawei also has a few stunning new "gradient" colour finishes, that shift colour in different light. The camera software leverages artificial intelligence technologies such as object recognition for stabilization and performing automated enhancements to images (recognizing common scenes and photo subjects), while information from the various sensors and infrared is used for autofocus.

Like other Huawei phones, you can also tune the color temperature to your liking, although the default setting is pleasant. But if you are shooting under bright sunlight and not worry about noise issue, you can switch the camera back to 40MP output, you can even enable RAW format for maximum editing freedom. When it came out, the P20 Pro was able to go head-to-head with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and the iPhone XS (though it's worth noting both are more powerful), and it was more affordable than either of those devices too. Huawei has opted for a front-facing fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button below the screen. As TechRadar has found, the P40 Pro offers a “superb photography experience”, both for daytime and low light situations. As you'd expect, Huawei has overhauled the Android compatibility of its latest P model phone, ensuring that your apps will work smoothly and securely. Unlike the stainless steel iPhone X though, a month into using the P20 Pro, the frame is scratch-free, boding well for the phone's durability. If you are not happy with the insanely good high ISO result from the P20 Pro, there is a special Night shot mode which allows you to capture cleaner and better quality long exposure photo by just hand holding the phone.

The Huawei Mate 10 / Mate 10 Pro released late last year were capable of recognising 13 different scenarios. It still does fail to recognise me occasionally (so it's nice to have the fingerprint sensor as a backup), and it only relies on the front-facing camera, so it's not as secure as Apple's FaceID. I find it much more pleasant to hold than the Samsung Galaxy S9, and it feels more durable too, so it's a great premium alternative if you have similar S9-worries.The Verge similarly praised its design for having many subtle details and a "satisfying sense of density that only Apple's iPhone X can match". Rather than just take a standard long exposure, the P20 Pro takes multiple exposures over the course of four seconds and combines the best bits of each shot into a single photo. However, the Samsung does a slightly better job of appearing to be 'all screen' front-on, because the Huawei's screen does not curve around at the sides.

The Huawei P20 Pro – along with the standard Huawei P20 – was the first but not the last Huawei phone with a notch, the display cut-out made famous by the iPhone X. For people constantly trying to show off the best versions of their lives, the P20 Pro is an incredible tool.As handsome as the phone is, the P20's design isn't the star here — it's the insane Leica triple-camera system. The P20 is constructed with a metal chassis and glass backing, has a fingerprint reader on the front that can also be used for gesture navigation, and is available in various color finishes. Huawei built up a reputation by producing decent quality budget phones and later moving into the mid-range with some powerful products.

The reason of having cameras with different focal length is that the secondary camera allows user to capture zoomed in photos with no lost in image quality. This is definitely better than the old design as some user may not even know you could right swipe the screen to reveal the hidden grid menu. When things get really dark, though, the results were impressive: They were mostly noise-free, surprisingly bright, and packed with much more detail than I expected. With amazing details and clear visuals being available weather, you are watching a movie, looking at photos or navigating the internet. Although the company hasn't established an iconic status like Samsung or Apple, Huawei has stealthily become a global smartphone giant. All of that image processing sounds like it might take a long time, but it doesn't thanks to octa-core Kirin 970, NPU, and 6GB of RAM.
