To my knowledge, they haven't released another version since then--unless you count releases of the same disc with multiple covers as a new version.

The other exception is the 2003 R2 French Studio Canal Evil Dead II double disc Collectors Edition DVD, which contains a 23m 40s interview with Bruce Campbell in English with French subtitles, which isn't found on any other Evil Dead II DVD release.

In the original version this is a completely static shot throughout; from her looking out the window, turning round, until it cuts to the next shot. It also comes with an extras disc in DVD format, although there is no previously unreleased material here as all the extras have been lifted from the 2007 US Anchor Bay Ultimate Edition 3-disc DVD. Although again it is ostensibly a matted widescreen frame, you actually see more on every side as if the entire frame is zoomed out, although this varies marginally from shot to shot.

Note: Our refurbished grades - Pristine, Very Good and Good - are solely based on the cosmetic condition of the phone. When released around the world on home video, laserdiscs and early DVD, it was almost exclusively fullscreen. This one replaces that, probably mainly so Anchor Bay wouldn't have to keep licensing the commentaries from Elite.

At about 17m 10s, you see a zooming close-up shot of the book of the dead, which then should cut to lightning striking a tree, then an exterior shot of the cabin at night, but the Elite version cuts straight from the book, to the shot of the cabin, leaving out the lightning. It's just a little annoying that you need to find an older disc of the first Evil Dead to have most of its key special features. The first is that while 4K has four times the pixel resolution of Blu-Ray, there seems to be no additional detail here over the previous 2010 US Anchor Bay Limited Edition Blu-Ray version. It had an all new transfer, the old extras once again carried over, plus a whole bunch of new stuff, finally giving this film the definitive special edition it deserves. Of course, that's fairly academic now, as their 2010 blu includes both transfers and blows them and all previous editions out of the water.

In an effort to straighten out their drug-ravaged friend Mia (Jane Levy), a group of five 20-somethings decide to decamp to an isolated backwoods cabin in the mountains of Tennessee. They take the opportunity to innovate more, get crazier, even sillier, and take things to more outlandish, epic proportions. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. They pick up Behind the Screams, too, so completists you don't have to worry about getting the Anchor Bay blu just for that. For the vast majority of the film, the widescreen version was simply the full 1:37:1 open matte transfer with the top and bottom cropped off, creating a 1.
