Description

I would strongly recommend this series for hardcore fans of fantasy and horror, so long as you're prepared to be traumatized for life by the disgustingly harsh nature of its content.

The first half offered a continuation of a very appealing arc that needed finality, and the end of that arc had one of the worst most sadomasochistic scenes I’ve had to read. Despite these drawbacks, Berserk enthusiasts and fans of dark fantasy will likely find enough elements to keep them engaged and eager for the next installment. While overall Berserk is still an excellent manga with incredibly detailed art, complex and compelling characters, and a fascinating world - the Lost Children was a little weaker than normal. Though there’s not as much horror in this volume as there was in some previous volumes there is still one good horror scene and lots of gore so we still get a bit of horror. Miura's fame grew after Berserk was serialized in Young Animal in 1992 with the release of "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of his masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary mangakas. A spirit then possesses Farnese and forces her to act out her lust by straddling Guts until sunrise. The Lost Children arc feels a bit underwhelming in a few areas compared to the shocking finale of the Golden Age arc, but the ending of this arc finishes with quite a few shockers of its own to bring back the hype and despair of the series.

as much as i hate Griffith and wish him the slowest and most painful death, i fear his absence is starting to show lmao🤡.Corkus attempts to rob Guts before he is saved by the Hawks' female captain Casca, who is in turned saved by their leader Griffith as he grievously wounds Guts. At a couple points in this volume, I figured the story had reached a plateau of depravity, and every time I was wrong. The story follows Guts, an orphaned mercenary on his quest for revenge, and consists of five major story arcs: "The Black Swordsman Arc" [nb 1] (volumes 1–3); "Golden Age Arc" [nb 2] (volumes 3–14); "Conviction Arc" [nb 3] (volumes 14–21); "Falcon of the Millennium Empire Arc" [nb 4] (volumes 22–35); and "Fantasia Arc" [nb 5] (volumes 35–). This manga has inspired many famous works of art that are popular in today’s media such as the Dark Souls franchise, Final Fantasy, Attack on Titan, Evangelion, Castlevania, as well as countless fantasy novels, comics, manga, movies, tv shows, video games, musicians, artists, illustrators and so much more. Clearly this series is more serious in general but yeah, it still has it’s chuckle worthy moments now and then.
