Description

Ghosts: The Button House Archives will be written by Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond – six of the ghosts who also co-starred in the franchise Horrible Histories. I received an advance copy for free from NetGalley, on the expectation that I would provide an honest review. I’m the biggest fan of Ghosts and the show is my ultimate comfort watch and totally won’t embarrass myself by saying how many times I’ve watched it, but the book is the most perfect companion.

The additional archives from the TV show, this book contains all of the letters, flyers and important documents gathered by Alison, to document her ghost friends’ lives (and deaths)! Ghosts began on the BBC in 2019, from the comedy group known as They Them, but better known as the team assembled for the first five series of Horrible Histories on CBBC, and who followed that by creating the William Shakespeare movie Bill, and the Sky TV fantasy series Yonderland, while individual members were responsible for everything from the Paddington movies to shows such as The Wrong Mans, Wonka, Here We Go, Sex Education and We Are Not Alone. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).In a statement by the creators, they say "we started kicking around the idea of a 'Ghosts' companion book quite early on in the life of the series and got very excited about how the characters could show up in all kinds of documents and artefacts. Based on the BBC television series Ghosts produced by Monumental Television in association with Them There.

If you're looking for something specific, or a customised bundle of books try our book fairy service. Lots of little in-jokes and subtle references for fans, and looks like it will make a great companion piece.Biography: Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond are the creators of GHOSTS and all star in the series. It's presented as a series of documents relating to the lives, and deaths, of Button House's spectral inhabitants. You too will be able to workout in the style of Captain Willbond, check out notes from the archaeological dig when they found the body of Robin or an inquiry into Julian. One for the fans perhaps, but there are plenty of us and with the last series coming up, I'll take everything I can get!

It doesn't say anything too new but there are many intricate but minor details about the ghosts' past lives through the form of artefacts such as letters, newspapers, photos, other correspondence etc.If you enjoy the TV series Ghosts, this book should be great fun, judging by the pre-publication sampler. Despite some of the handwriting being a little tricky to read, I adored this book - it’s so creative and original, and every page you could hear the characters talking. The tie-in book is described as “a hilarious, colourful and entertaining compendium of surviving artefacts and documents relating to the ghosts of Button House’s past lives”. It's got letters, a getting to know you bio, transcripts from the House of Commons, newspaper clippings, a fitness guide, an archaeological report and more, just in this small sample.

We're delighted to finally be bringing this idea to life with Bloomsbury to produce something we hope fans will treasure. Written by the show’s creators – Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond – this eclectic archive is a unique chance to discover more about the beloved ghosts of Button House.

I received a sampler of the Ghosts Archives and I’ll start by saying, if you’re a fan of the show (I’m going to assume that you are because EVERYONE should be.
