Both of them were likeable and here Orion was quite a whiny annoying cussing "oh i'm so important and special" dude. Orion and Valentino meet in NYC on the day Death-Cast launches, falling in love and helping each other figure out which one of them will truly die that day.

The original was much better, the writing was better and the storyline itself, i cried every page at the original.In addition to Orion and Valentino, you get the friend, a guy who works at Death-Cast, his coworkers, the sister, the… landlord, and way more for some reason. Even though one of them dies, the other one lives and breathes on and starts living, a beautiful, glorious life in front of him. Although this is the prequel, rather than the first in the series, 'The First to die' was my introduction to Adam Silvera and the DeathCast universe.
