Similar to when I first began reading Yu Yu Hakusho or Hunter x Hunter, Demon Slayer gives you some fucked up situations but not overly brooding, dark, or moody. Ultimately, we get an adorable baby Nezuko and outside of Sabito, this was well worth reading for that alone. o :o :o That was cleared up in the manga and really appreciated that because I just sort of thought it "appeared" because "it just does" when Tanjiro uses concentration breathing. This shonen manga is violent but not nearly as brutal as series such as "Hellsing," and there is little overt sexuality. They were included as “phenoms” in Time’s annual list of the top 100 Most Influential People and became one of the first ever manga artists to receive the achievement. After reasoning with a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro is told to seek out the wise (and retired) Demon Slayer, Sakonji Urokodaki. Giant, grotesque parodies of the human form, these sexless monsters consumed all but a few thousand human beings, who took refuge behind gigantic walls made to keep the monsters out.The surprise appearance of another boy named Giyu, who seems to know what's going on, might provide some answers…but only if Tanjiro can stop Giyu from killing his sister first! Demon Slayer is an anime that has been recommended to me countless times, but I’m such a sucker for pages that I knew I had to read the manga first before I could get into the anime series. But most importantly, I could see the potential of the series, as in being intriguingly enjoyable, funny and *dramatic. And so many of the characters are endearing (tanjiro and nezuko are precious af, still crying over rengoku, akaza turned out lowkey precious in the end too, fuck douma).

This janky and disjointed style of storytelling also gives the book a bizarre comedic feel despite going for a very serious and somber tone. And while the deaths of his other family members was brushed off a little too quickly, we are given time to understand that Tanjiro has a significant amount of admiration for his sister Nezuko.
