Description

For me, I do not believe chronic illness or cancer or any other “negative” aspect of the human condition is the result of the fall of man ages ago in the Garden of Eden. The word “chronic”, as the author explains, is often used in a more negative way as in chronic health conditions; Bartz, however, says that chronic is something that is always there, it’s not going to go away.

I am not well versed in scripture and the reading was not only easy reading but at each section it gave relevant scripture to reach out to you and let you know just how much Christ cares for you and loves you. So, don't trust your feelings, embrace what Scripture says and what this author stays consistent to and enjoy these abiding truths. As one who has suffered a chronic illness for over a decade I wanted to like this book, and I tried, I really tried. The goal is to have the best quality of life possible while acknowledging that I will always be disabled.I highly recommend this book to anyone who suffers from chronic illnesses or cares for someone who has chronic illnesses. Those of us with chronic illness are always hoping for a panacea, which the medical field just can’t provide. I was blessed time and again while reading this book as I was reminded of the promises in God’s Word and how they apply to my life. As for the theology presented, and in an effort to discredit it by a few reviewers, I am saddened (and somewhat disturbed) that so many haven't learned yet, or are not willing to accept the amazing comfort of the theology of affliction, let alone the character of God revealed in scripture. Brooke desires for teen girls to come to faith in Christ and then live out their lives boldly and unashamed of the Gospel as they hold to their purity and stand for Jesus in their generation.

By reading "Chronic Love" I not only received an education of how to preach to myself in the midst of suffering, but was also taught what it looks like to not waste an education, or waste my suffering. Chronic Love” overflows with Scripture verses and an abundance of encouragement and affirmation for women in all stages of illness. This book was fully saturated with scripture and was a huge encouragement to those who suffer daily.By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. I found this book to be highly encouraging by putting forth an eternal perspective without ignoring the daily battles people face with chronic illness. Chronic Love: Trusting God while Suffering with a Chronic Illness is a book for women who are either suffering from chronic illness or those who care for those suffering. God had a plan to put me here to help others for the chronic pain and save any lives I can for those that almost ended theirs. Brooke Bartz is a stay-at-home wife and mom who lives daily with a chronic disease, knowing firsthand the daunting, gnawing physical and spiritual pain it causes.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through JustRead Publicity Tours and was not required to post a favorable review. The book shows women how to really dig deep into God's Word and rely on him, even through the toughest days.Clearly the agony and how our Lord would be treated and killed was within God the Father's direct and ordained will.

Yet disease was not always her close companion; in the years before her diagnosis, she grew up playing sports and earned a full scholarship to play volleyball at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. Since the Bible very clearly says it is God who ordains suffering to even the choicest saints, it would be rebellious to assail God by words or arguments regarding any of His dealings toward us. Something that struck me while reading was that when we bemoan our condition we are actually hurting God because we are going against His will for us; we know that He uses all things for our good and for His glory if we are His children (Romans 8:28). Many of us would do as well for ourselves to handle the perplexities of chronic illness the way this author has.Chronic Love shows women how they can rely on God to get them through their days and all their obligations.
