About this deal

Personally I’d rather have not seen 3 identical Blight-Haulers and maybe swap in a Foetid Bloat-drone. It features several units that are ideal for inclusion in any Necrons force, whether you’re starting a new army or adding to an existing one, all for less than you’d pay getting the models separately.

You get 20 warrioirs, 5 immortals (that may be assembled as deathmarks, 5 scarabs and 1 ghost ark (that may be assembled as a doomsday ark). With 5 Intercessors, 5 Infiltrator/Incursors, 3 Aggressors, an Impulsor and a Primaris Librarian, you’ll be well equipped to unleash the fury of Sanguinius’ sons in Combat Patrol games. Existing Space Marine players likely already have more than enough Intercessors, but it’s a perfectly legitimate Patrol for the Astartes curious. For strictly competitive play this isn’t currently ideal, mostly because it’s gone big on Doomstalkers who are close to good enough (and did actually show up in a successful list recently, albeit at 1750pts) but not quite there, and Ophydians are still super squishy for their cost.I highly encourage you to read the manuals before you start cutting parts off the sprues, as the Immortals/Deathmarks use different pieces that are numbered, which you can see in the instruction manual and on the sprue, so you don't end up with not knowing which arms that are supposed to go together. Given that the Combat Patrol box also contains the otherwise impossible-to-obtain Deffkoptas, the value of this Battleforce mostly depends on your level of interest in the ancillary stuff.

A Psychomancer Cryptek offers a hypertechnological edge, while a pack of Ophydian Destroyers will tear through anything in their path. This set provides a great selection of models and is an ideal way to start a Necron army or to bolster an existing force. Despite covering Warhammer Conquest for almost 2 years, I’d completely forgotten about Death Guard as a force due to the lack of releases of late.

The Ghost/Doomsday Ark also recommends you painting certain parts before further assembly, so it would be wise to read that as well. In fact, combo it with the Necron half of the Elite or Command Edition starter and you’ve got just over 1000pts of stuff that would be a very respectable force in 1000pts Crusade games.
