J. Finn, number-one New York Times best-selling author) that explores the many ways families can wreak emotional havoc across generations, appealing to fans of HBO’s acclaimed series Succession. She is ALWAYS the smartest person around, the girl with the HUGEST breasts, the number one girl in the brothel all the guys pick.

The story is largely upbeat and details a young woman maturing too young, surviving and overcoming her past, with an inspiring quest for independence. Mattress Actress is a revealing and gutsy look at someone practising the world’s oldest profession in the late 20th century. At 33, Andrea Tang is living the dream: She has a successful career as a lawyer, a posh condo, and a clutch of fun-loving friends who are always in the know about Singapore's hottest clubs and restaurants. She takes on the role of a whore and abuses herself, her family, her child and the men she comes in contact with for the pure reason of money.

This book should have aroused my sympathy for the author and admiration with her efforts to gain an education and thus move away from her former life into a vocation which she and society as a whole find more "acceptable". I'm not sure i could compare this to any of the erotica i've listened to as it's not necessarily erotic, but the truth is quite a turn on. I feel as though she should have been more forth right and kept her upbringing out of the book and sold it as more of a under world choice to make fast money in her life than to use her experiences as her security blanket. Her close childhood friend, Anita, wo rks as a bondage mistress by day and a radio phone-in sex therapist by nigh t.

My first impression was that the author heard of the phenomenal success enjoyed by Belle De Jour with her diary series, which have gone on to become a huge success in the UK and elsewhere. It is this ambition that takes her away from her tiny hometown of Port Clare and sets her on a collision course with her future. If you are not shy to the content (it really is quite mild), I think most would love this book and it comes recommended from me.

She's constantly whining about how she gets judged, and how people do not realize that what she does (did) is hard work. She neither shrinks from the more graphic and provocative details of sex work nor glamorizes its reality. Together, they run riot through the streets of Cork city, trying to maintain a bohemian existence while the threat of the financial crash looms before them. Sometimes, the content can be repetitive and jumpy, such as discussing the different types of clients, but the next part jumps to her personal life.
