About this deal

Theme - True to the name of the book, the theme of the story is about what can go wrong when you are greedy. Preying on and making profit and money off peoples mental health on the shittest month of the year whilst we are in a cost of living crisis.

Her musings on social justice issues such as cisgenderism, racism, and ableism read as an amalgamated regurgitation of quotes of Black feminist scholars and disability justice activists without any critical thought into how these ideas impact the author and the world around her. But this isn't just any memoir; it's also an educational examination that delves into identity, cultural misunderstandings of bisexuality and the microaggressions that come along with that, why coming out bi has specific challenges, and more. Perfect for anyone who falls under the Bi+ umbrella, has questioned their sexuality, or wondered if it was “too late” for them to come out.I do find the pastor who condemns alcohol in all its forms but lays out a sumptuous feast to be somewhat hypocritical – in a way it is easy to condemn alcohol because of the nature of drunkenness, but food not to the same extent – we all need to eat. Anyway, this concludes my romp down Roger Hargreaves’ boxed set of “Little Misters” and despite the sacrilege of splitting up the set, I think I’ll donate most of these and keep only a few.

but I also think this is going to age terribly- not just because of the references to memes and the impersonal writing, but also just because of some of the takes. Greedy appears to slip into either a dreamlike daze or some kind of food-induced hallucinatory state.Yet, what is a shame is that these days greed isn't portrayed in the same way that it used to be portrayed, particularly in this book. Recommendation - When recommending these books to parents of children in elementary school, I would make sure to mention to take them with a grain of salt. However he is not pilloried by the other Mr Men (although some cruelty takes place in other stories), and there is no-one to curb his habits. His diet is heavily skewed toward carbohydrates such as breads and cereals - foods that an endurance athlete might favour.

That said, it's a super readable book, one that I picked up intending to just have a look and then realized "Oh I guess I'm reading this now. As a whole, it felt like an intro to social justice for someone who’d never read any other sources or works. If we work of the principle of the golden rule (and not the one that says that he who has the gold, makes all the rules) then gluttony isn't necessarily a problem as the only person whom you are hurting is yourself (though this doesn't take into account family and dependants). She sheds light on the reasons women, queer people, and other marginalized groups tend to make ourselves smaller, provoking the question: What would happen if we suddenly stopped? In an incredible scene Greedy happens upon a secret room filled with over-sized foodstuffs such as oranges bigger than himself and peas the size of footballs. full of white woman virtue signaling and insufferable narration, but at times (few times, but still) really hits the nail on the head. A pea slurps, gobbles and munches his way through a feat in this comic reimagining of The Princess and the Pea […] Hodgkinson, who co-creaed Olibob Top, clearly had fun imagining why the Pea of the original tale stopped the princess from sleeping, and in this bright and bouncy version the Pea is gloriously greedy and round. the author spends half the book talking about how she can't speak on issues because she's privileged and the other half speaking on those issues.
