About this deal

With its intuitive operation, X-T30 II lets you quickly switch between exposure modes, simply by setting a combination of the Shutter Speed Dial and the Aperture Ring on the lens. Each Film Simulation is precisely engineered to reproduce colors and tones from Fujifilm’s most popular analog films and some of photography’s longest-standing photo finishing processes.

Flash pop-up lever, buttons, front and rear unmarked control dials, top center cover (which is the pop-up flash), LCD frame and cover, front focus mode lever and battery door. This is a superior camera for people and group photos due to its magnificent flesh tone rendition, however this doesn't play as well for nature and landscape photos where you'll want more vivid colors. The out-of-camera JPEGs from the X-T30 remind me of post-processed RAW files from a Sigma Merrill captured at low ISO, which is saying a lot if you know anything about the Sigma Merrill cameras. Given that we’ve seen the X-T30 II’s sensor in multiple cameras, we didn’t expect any surprises when it came to image and video quality. Instead of just giving users the basic pre-sets, Fujifilm has provided a whopping 18 different film simulations, with many of them engineered to reproduce the colors, tones and general 'feel' from Fujifilm's analog heritage.

Other controls and playback functions are navigated either using buttons and a joystick at the rear of the camera, but also using the touchscreen which will feel familiar to smartphone and tablet users. If these 600 × 450 pixel crops are about 6" (15cm) wide on your screen, then the complete image printed at this same extreme magnification would be about 42 × 62" (3. Install the free FUJIFILM Camera Remote App on your smartphone or tablet, and you’ll be able to send images from the camera to smart devices, control exposure settings, and remotely release the shutter. I'm not a fan of the film emulation and special picture modes; except for people pictures for which this camera excels I'm not happy with it for my style for nature, landscape, architecture and other genres as its JPGs are too subtle for me. Fujifilm has also employed the same 425-point AF system for the X-T30 II as for its predecessor; again, that put in a solid performance last time, and again it’s the same system you’ll find in the X-S10, the X-T4 and the X-Pro3.Besides that, the amount of sharpening that’s being applied at each setting is slightly more heavy-handed on X-Trans IV than on X-Trans III. In theory this should mean that the X-T30 II is a little more adept at acquiring focus in very low lighting, and that seems to be borne out well in practice – during our testing, it did a good job of picking out fine details even when light was pretty limited. But that’s not to say you don’t get some excellent specs for your cash – and indeed in many ways it’s a very similar camera to the superb Fujifilm X-S10.
