Description

We have just completed the NC500, the book was a god send, it pointed out places to visit, eat and diesel stops as well as finding our own, we didn’t do much planning, we are both 66 and we had decide now was the time to go, so we borrowed a tent of our son and off we went and as we went round the coast the more we got into it, what a amazing place, it has taken us 10 days luckily we have no time restrictions, we are now in Skye thinking what a fantastic adventure, something we have never had the chance to do before.

Stunning photos, excellent detail and information for me to explore the NC500 with confidence following your advice to complete in 14 days to appreciate all the great locations. As someone who is planning to travel this route (amongst others in the glorious highlands) it is an ideal ‘ taster’ of things to come. Of course different people have different needs and tastes, but with this book you can soon ‘read between the lines’ and cherry pick the information that you personally need. As a veteran of the NC500 even before it was christened, I love looking and reading about bits I missed and bringing back memories.

Even as I opened it, I was impressed by the feel of quality of the materials used for the cover and the pages. I have been to Sutherland and and stayed at Kylesku 3 times and explored some of the surrounding areas but want to explore more I thought there guide would be of great help and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. However when it arrived I got into it very quickly and started in my mind , my own trips on the nc500 using the book all the way.Thank you for making such a good book and we highly recommend your YouTube channel, everyone go subscribe now! Reliable and detailed: Maps of each region of the route, detailing the exact location of sights and attractions.

Only so far into NC500, have just had a major op so have plenty of time on my hands to read it, and then can start to plan our trip to finish of our Scotland trips next year, well done a great read and lovely pictures, will definitely be finding some of those places. As a keen amateur photographer who works full time, I don’t have a lot of time to spare planning and faffing around trying to find a location. This guide has given us plenty of food for thought to cram as much in as possible, using the information like fuel stations, places to eat and stay etc etc all of which is laid out so well, along with beautiful photos. Insider Tips: Local tips and tricks to planning your trip, such as fuel stops, internet signal, supermarket locations, what to pack and how to prepare for your trip.We enjoyed the 7 day trip and saw fantastic sights and amazing views that have never seen before, and we have travelled to Scotland before. All in all a superb guide to both the route and some of the spectacular places in our beautiful country. This NC500 guild book is the best one we own, we have been to the highlands a couple of times now and your book has highlighted things we have missed. The information is extremely helpful for Motorhome owners, as we are, and what with the wonderful photographs, well, it’s given us even more incentive to travel and visit the NC500 as soon as we can find a fortnight or so, spare days to do so.

In the summer of 2016 I visited the western part of the NC500 together with my son for two weeks, my wife joined us for another week (from Inverness to Glen Affric, Durness, Old Man of Stoer, Ullapool, Isle of Skye, Fort William, Glencoe, Loch Awe an then back home). We had a minor glitch when we received the book which was solved without any questions asked and in record time. Then I went out to find the wonderful, magical places I’d read about such as the Fairy Glen Waterfalls. A brief informative outline of the history of the region sets the scene well and I for one have been educated in a productive way. For me the best feature is the lists such as best distilleries, best waterfalls and beaches, where to stay.it’s not a journey to be done in a couple of days take time and enjoy all the scenery and stop at the places in your book that are so well described. It arrived just before Christmas beautifully wrapped in brown paper and string with a personal note which made it extra special. Helping me to plan next year’s holiday on the NC500 by giving good descriptions, parking info, accessibility and whether they are dog friendly which is very important to us. so many beautiful pictures, fantastic information and really great quality, I’ve brought several NC500 books and this is far the best by a long way, it should be known as the NC500 bible, no one should consider the North Coast trip without first reading it, well done both. Haven’t travelled yet, but letting my family see the places we could visit once the weather is more favourable and my family are on vacation.
