This new socket requires a change to the mounting system for our award-winning Kraken Series of AIO CPU coolers. Right next to the Screws (under on the upper and above on the lower screws, outside the RM) you can see the AM3 holes. Thermal grease may flow over the edges of the processor and reach the socket if excessive amounts are applied. Each using a different locking mechanism, either by retention clips or spring-screws, to secure it to the motherboard. You need to have enough slack to get the screw clip loops over the retention hooks of the mounting clip.
The other important thing is the force you are using to tighten the four screws that hold the water block together. If you already have a Kraken or are purchasing one that doesn’t already include the AM4 bracket, no need to worry.With any PC system build it is important that the CPU cooler is properly installed to ensure that heat is effectively dissipated to maintain appropriate operating temperatures.
