Initially it smells almost masculine with a deep musky woodsy aroma (could be a unisex perfume, actually), later it develops a sweet boozy vanilla quality that is almost addictive. I don't quite know which accord gets the final compliment, maybe the mysterious peru balsam, or simply the excellent combination of white woods and vanilla, but this is pure heaven for a scent! This perfume upsets me so much because I love the scent with all my heart but, I feel like it has no projection or staying power. I think, however, this fragrance could be a little more elevated as it doesn't necessarily smell 'classy' to me or 'luxurious'. This is such a beautiful creamy, milky vanilla with a completely addictive musky/woodsy dry down and I absolutely am in love with Midnight Shimmer.
