Charging occurs via Olight’s signature magnetic charging cable – the magnet is strong enough to easily attract the charging base by moving the tail of the torch close to the charging pad. Unlike the Marauder 2, the Marauder Mini uses the signature magnetic charging system and also has a removable battery. That means they use high-quality materials and glue things up, so you can’t accidentally get inside the flashlight and ruin something. Thanks to its two different power modes, this lamp is equally suitable for illuminating large areas, as well as for other situations where you need a maximum range.

The status of the battery is clearly shown through 14 different indicator lights around the switch on the top of the flashlight, where 7 show the status during charging, while the remaining 7 show the remaining battery time during use. Primarily you’ll be carrying this light by means of the lanyard, which attaches through this “coin slot loop.And since I reviewed the Olight Marauder 2, its bigger brother with 14,000 lumens, I couldn’t pass this one. It’s small enough to fit a large jacket pocket and large enough to use as your main go-to flashlight, especially considering the large capacity battery of 6500mAh.

The central spotlight LED which is probably a Rayten RT-5050 LED, creates a focussed circular spot beam instead of the usual square beam. On 1 end, there’s a USB-A connector, and at the other end, there is a magnetic base with a positive and negative terminal. It looks really cool and like the answer to my jacket light flood/throw dilemma, essentially an improved d1. Furthermore, the lamp body is made of very durable aircraft aluminum, and is fully waterproof and shock-resistant according to the IPX8 standard.

The Olight Marauder Mini is a miniature version of the popular Marauder 2, with a more compact body yet still offering a powerful output of 7000 lumens at Level 7 in floodlight mode, which will have a timed downshift of 2 minutes to prevent the LED from overheating. On the end of the Olight Marauder Mini flashlight is a bit of printing, along with the charging connection. With up to 7000 lumens and a maximum range of 600m, it would make a very useful addition to anyone’s outdoor gear arsenal. Safest in its Class: A built-in thermal sensor and cooling fins to ensure safety in case of overheating and lens obstruction.
