It’s pretty similar to my own tablet in that the different apps and functions of the LeapPad are laid out in squares that you tap on with either the stylus included with the tablet or your finger.

The LeapPad3 was very easy to setup and took about 10 minutes and did not need to be plugged in a computer to do so (requires wi-fi to do this or you will need to plug in your computer and download the LeapFrog Connect Application). It is a big improvement and one which I think will mean that we use the Leappad as much as, possibly more than the family iPad. We’ve really enjoyed testing the LeapPad 3, all three kids including my 7 year old enjoy it, and learn a lot from the games and apps. Choose from hundreds of fun learning games, eBooks, apps, videos, music and more—designed by learning experts, just for children! You complete various mini tasks to help other characters prepare for the surprise party they are throwing for Minnie.Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

This tablet is aimed at three to nine year olds but I think Jake (6-years-old) is the perfect age for it. We are a Leap Frog family, owning many of their products – so I was excited to get our hands on the new LeapPad 3. This game helps learning letters by tracing letters, pronouncing letters, spelling words, word recognition and reading.

My son, who is three, absolutely loves it, but his cousin – who has just turned seven and had an older model LeapPad a few years ago – has all but grown out of using it.

Now, the brand has not only updated the LeapPad several times to a tablet that’s almost unrecognisable from its early days, but added products including the Tag and LeapReader reading systems and cuddly learning toy My Pal Scout. The LeapPad 3 has a built-in rechargeable battery (power supply also supplied) so no need for constantly replacing batteries and gives up to 6 hours of use without recharging (with wi-fi off). Lara came home from school this week wanting to find out more about the topics of "Dead Sea Scrolls" and "Hannukah", neither of which she would have been able to using the "kid-friendly" browser on the Leappad. I have a leapPad academy and my son's father naught it for him for Christmas and set it up before he gave it to him. The LeapPad has proven a hit in this house, with my little ones and me, not least because it’s a toy that’s both exciting and educational.
