I get anise, dark brown sugar, a very lovely patchouli, masterfully blended flowers so that gardenia doesn’t ruin everything, and heaps of cinnamon. Wearing this, I feel like I should be sitting in the middle of a forest grove, communing with nature. I would even say weare it when you are alone setting the sun on the beach or enjoying the cocktails in exotic resorts. This is one of the best perfumes I’ve ever smelled- I agree with prior comments that this is better than many niche brands.

I don’t perceive it as particularly christmassy or wintery, probably because there’s no cinnamon, which is the main holiday spice imo. The top notes are Cloves, Cumin and Mandarin Orange; the heart notes are Cardamom, Caraway, Licorice, Mango, Ylang-Ylang, Heliotrope, and Gardenia; the base notes are Vanilla, Amber and Patchouli. so having devoured curry has made me ignore these only two notes that I truly dislike about this perfume - and I'm 100% delighted!Lasting power on paper is a couple of days longer from the nineties bottle, but since my recent bottle stays distinct for about a month on paper and clothing it doesn't really make a difference. It seemed to hold such a special and iconic place in many people's hearts, yet seemed to be also polarizing for some, so my curiosity was sparked. The opening is extremely green smell which I think I’m perceiving from the clove and cardamom, but even more I’d say it smells like fresh cinnamon sticks. A spice bomb for sure and beast mode, also tends to lend a little on the masculine side, which I don't mind, but definitely a unisex fragrance.
