Description

If you’re having comfort problems with the Magna Trail at first just bear with it – it’s worth it and you’ll get past the break-in period.

Be a responsible consumer AND help your body work in the way it should by stepping into the ultra-lightweight and eco-friendly Vivobarefoot Magna Trail hiking boots. Features of the Vivobarefoot Magna Trail Upper The minimal design of the upper fabric is constructed of nylon that is made of recycled PET. Flash rain with sizeable standing water in Seoul, Korea and heavy rain is the perfect time to put the Magna Trail into action. Crafted with velvety soft suede, gusseted tongue, fur lining, and a two-layer open-cell PU insole, the Telluride Boot is the ultimate choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a barefoot feel with unbeatable comfort. The Corduroy exterior is rugged, water-tight and durable against the elements, while the neoprene inner liner is breathable whether you’re wearing socks or not.And these things also have zero breathability, my feet are soaked in sweat at the end of a light work day. The second generation Magna Trail retains the same design and swaps out the Corduroy branded nylon and neoprene liner with a similar textile for the body and knitted sock upper. Merino wool socks IMO are a must have when it comes to barefoot shoes and they’ll improve comfort, smell, and temperature range over cotton/polyester/nylon socks. The dense Corduroy material means I can walk through high puddles of water and get these soaked under heavy rain with no sweat… or soggy feet. I sent the first pair back immediately, since they felt like boa constrictors around my feet (size 9 has worked in other Vivo shoes though, so I can only conclude that the sizing of the lasts in Vivo shoes can be a little variable).

The second generation offers more specialised options depending on which way you shift from urban to nature exploration, but the Magna Trail is a staple that hits the sweet spot nicely and is well worth the premium for bare feet health, design and construction. They work great for biking around the city, dancing in the park, nightclub shenanigans, and even advanced mountain stuff. Re)new and improved- remade with recycled materials that have reduced this impact this footwear has on the planet.

On dry rocks, however, they are super grippy making me feel really confident hopping from one rock to another.

Comfortable, flexible, forgiving – my feet really enjoy them and while everyone’s foot is different, I reckon they’ll fit great. It’s too early to say how durable these shoes are, however if they’re anything like my other Vivobarefoot shoes – I reckon they’ll last a good chunk of time. In all honesty, the Magna Forest ESC doesn’t quite match the comfort levels of their minimalist-type shoes such as the Primus Trail FG or casual shoes. I recently purchased the Magna FG (with wool and leather) and after initially putting them on, I thought they were super comfortable.
