Description

Between school breaks, vacations, and of course wedding season, summer is often equated with romance. Ama is a wedding planner taking on her first big client and they insist they use Elliot as their florist.

He is immediately enamored with her and fumbles with how to catch her as she flies in circles around him during all of this wedding planning. I cannot recommend this enough though, and if the review from a random internet stranger isn’t all you could possibly need to convince you to read this, then the cover should definitely be able to sway you. This book was fun, full of passion, heart-aching moments between the main characters, and a perfect second chance romance book!

Their romantic and sexual chemistry is great, but what really hooked me was their creative chemistry—the way they bounce ideas off one another, come together to create gorgeous designs, inspire and encourage each other, and help each other grow. I wish I got to know more about her character because I didn't feel connected to her the way I felt with Elliot. there were some fragments of their past relationship drawn as memories here and there in the present chapters. I hoped so much that her writing style would be exactly what I got to love and appreciate from her fanfiction and boy did she deliver!

This book came out at the perfect time; it was just what I needed––a fun, easy read with a good balance of plot, spice, and emotion. Some important, non spoiler things that may be useful as you head into this: This is a second chance romance, told in dual POV, and a dual timeline. Trust me, the anticipation itself was so beautifully angst-ridden that everything else faded in the background; it keeps you on your toes, holding your breath, waiting and guessing. That's not a bad thing but I'm confused why that was done so much instead of just taking or ripping them off. I thought Ama and Elliot had great chemistry in the flashback scenes, it was a bit harder to see in the present day ones.

Their relationship initially began with hook-ups, and while that's completely acceptable, it did feel like there was a lack of chemistry or sexual tension between them in many instances. Not when Hazel's fiance Jackie has family connections with Elliot and especially asked for him to take care of the flower arrangements, not when their wedding is the biggest media issue of the year, the opportunity too big to pass on.Also I love donuts as much as the rest of you but the amount of times the word donut is used in this book is not normal.
