For context, the S’wheat weighs almost half that, at 250g, and Chilly’s Series 2 bottles weigh 390g. This is the reusable coffee cup I turn to for a coffee that will stay warm until I get into the office. The lid has another standout feature, one I really liked: it offers 360 degree drinking: wherever you place your mouth around lid, you can drink. Whilst Chilly's Coffee Cups are made of high-grade stainless steel which preserves the flavour and freshness of your drinks, if they are not cleaned regularly it can lead to a smell or taste developing.

The overall winner of my little experiment is the Chillys Series 2 followed closely by the SHO Pacto. Unlike other straw lids I’ve tried, it doesn’t seem designed to put your whole mouth around, rather your top lip just behind the opening.Disappointingly, I found mine kept leaking out from around the side, resulting in tea trickling over my hand every time I used it.
