All throughout, captions and narration make meticulous note of the time, as the story flashes back and forth between the heist's planning, execution and fallout. But with these, the story feels more mythical, and the treasure itself feels much more important because of the context that’s established here. Visually, there's nothing better in DC's lineup right now (World's Finest under Dan Mora is a close tie). Overall, the story does come together in the end and serves primarily to give a new introduction to a lesser tier villain. However, the hiccups mentioned earlier about where and how this fits within what King already wrote, as well as some character details had me pumping the breaks a bit.

Catwoman kicks Riddler down, trying to get the money before Batman arrives in seconds, but Nuri hesitates. With art by David Marquez and colours by Alejandro Sánchez you know you're in for a wonderful journey! Batman not only does the impossible because of how capable he is, but he energizes you as he does it. A latecomer to comics - I started reading Bruce Wayne: Murderer, Birds of Prey, Hush, and War Games in college. It's change that I think will garner a lot of new fans, how had previously felt waylaid by his Batman run and the aforementioned Heroes and Bat Cat books. Amid the mayhem and chaos, the "prize" is knocked from the holder's hand into the field, eventually claimed by the waiting narrator.

As much as I go back and forth on the little things that aren’t perfect about this series, I have to admit that I like it. If you had to compare Batman to another superhero based on everything surrounding the character, Spider-Man is your best bet.

A Tom King special that, much like Batman/Catwoman, feels like a lost storyline from when King was writing the main Batman series. And if you are looking for a longer version of what happens in Batman: Killing Time, read on for a much more detailed version of the events as we travel through time. That seems rather hollow, but it's more than a little telling that Clock King is the character the series ultimate revolves around.
