The Chow Chow is a unique and ancient breed that could be one of the original spitz types. There are artifacts from China’s Han Dynasty depicting these dogs from around 200 B.C Their long history has seen them be prized companions of the Chinese noble, guard dogs, and hunters. A lot of vets these days recommend waiting until dogs are slightly older before spaying and neutering them which means they are more mature before undergoing the procedures. As such they advise neutering males and spaying females when they are between the ages of 6 to 9 months old and sometimes even when a dog is 12 months old. Amorolfine, ciclopirox and pentylene glycol are among the most-used active ingredients of anti-fungal nail treatments. They restore pH balance, kill fungal and bacterial infections, and allow the nail to grow healthily from its base. There are between 50 and 70 distinct spitz dog breeds, but some aren’t easily categorized because there is no exact category definition. These 16 AKC-recognized breeds are synonymous with the spitz classification and showcase why so many people have made these dogs a member of their family. Akita All puppies are sensitive to noise including German Spitz puppies. It's important to keep the noise levels down when a new puppy arrives in the home. TVs and music should not be played too loud which could end up stressing a small puppy out and which could affect them for the rest of their lives. In short it could lead to dogs being timid and shy in their adult lives. Keeping vet appointments

The Japanese Spitz is fast becoming popular here in the UK although these charming little dogs have been firm favourites in their native Japan since the early 20th century. They are small in stature lively by nature yet very undemanding which when added to their charming looks and brilliant white coats makes for a lovely dog to have around the home. There is no reliable immunohistochemical marker to distinguish atypical Spitz tumor from Spitz nevus or Spitz melanoma The dogs that fall into the Spitz type are mostly from a variety of breeds and not one size fits all descriptions. They are known to be healthy little dogs although there are a few health concerns worth knowing about if you are hoping to share your home with a German Spitz. The health issues that appear to affect the breed the most include the following:

Blurred vision would make your pet miss coordination and bump into walls quite often. If you notice this on a regular basis, then it is advisable that you get your pet’s eyes operated immediately by an experienced vet. Almost always, they were developed to help their human companions with outdoor working tasks, such as herding, hunting and pulling sleds. That’s right, even the small Pomeranian pulled sleds at one point. Though, they were much bigger in the past.

A Spitz naevus grows rapidly for a few months. After the initial growth period, if untreated, it may remain static for years. Lifespan cannot be standardized since it varies from dog to dog. Sometimes even with proper care, owners fail to keep their pets alive for more than 10 years. Is the Japanese Spitz a vulnerable breed? No they are among some of the more popular breeds in the UK both as family pets and companions According to Canidae, spitz-type dogs are typically intelligent breeds with a curiosity for life. They tend to be overall good dogs with a sweet disposition. In fact, some spitz breeds are known for their undying loyalty, such as the Akita Inu and Husky. One of Europe’s oldest breeds, the Norwegian Elkhound sailed and hunted with the Vikings before herding sheep and guarding farms in rural Norway. Larger than the Buhund, the Elkhound has a distinctive silver-gray coat that is dense enough to keep them comfortable in the harshest weather conditions, and their natural athleticism, stamina, and working traits make them ideal agility and herding competitors.

The Japanese Spitz ( 日本スピッツ, Nihon Supittsu, Japanese pronunciation: [nʲippoɴ.sɯ̥ᵝpʲittsɯᵝ]) is a small to medium breed of dog of the Spitz type. There are varying standards around the world as to the ideal size of the breed, but they are always larger than their smaller cousins, the Pomeranian. They were developed in Japan in the 1920s and 1930s by breeding a number of other Spitz type dog breeds together. They are recognized by the vast majority of the major kennel clubs, except the American Kennel Club due to it being of similar appearance to the white Pomeranian, American Eskimo Dog and Samoyed. While they are a relatively new breed, they are becoming widely popular due to their favorable temperament and other features.Japanese Spitz are a good choice for first time dog owners because they are so amenable and people-oriented loving nothing more than to please and to entertain their families. They are particularly good with young children and older people too although playtime can get a bit boisterous at times. What about prey drive? Is the German Spitz a vulnerable breed? No they have fast become a popular choice both as a family pet and companion thanks to their adorable looks and willing natures For more severe or troublesome fungal nail infections, antifungal medication may be recommended. Antifungal medication Spitz are mostly double coated and shed heavily at all times of the year. You need to ensure that they are groomed regularly and the skin is kept clean to avoid infections. Give them a bath at least once a week with a good dog shampoo to avoid dirt accumulation.

Mostly the smaller Spitz dogs are prone to this condition. Surgery is the only way to ease the pain and discomfort caused by this disease. German Spitz are the perfect choice for first time dog owners because they are so amenable and people-oriented loving nothing more than to please and to entertain their families. They are particularly good with young children and older people too although playtime can get a bit boisterous at times. What about prey drive? The bigger the nail, the longer it’ll take to grow out, so big toenails take the longest. Expect to wait between four and 12 months for your brand new nail. A good well-made playpen that's large enough for a puppy to play in so they can really express themselves as puppies like to do When a German Spitz moves they do so with purpose without showing any sort of exaggeration in their gait. They move effortlessly in a straight line with a brisk gait always retaining a level top-line. FaultsThey are known to be quite sensitive by nature and as such do not respond well to any sort of harsh correction of heavy handed training methods which would not achieve good results. They do answer very well to kind and gentle positive reinforcement training and love the one-to-one interaction they get with their owners during a training session which is one of the reasons they excel at many canine sporting activities. But aside from shedding, they’re playful and highly active dogs. And because they’re so friendly, they don’t make good guard dogs. On the other hand, they’re great playmates for older children. Expect your Buhund to weigh up to 40 pounds and standard nearly 19 inches tall. They’re not too big, but not too small. They’re just r Japanese Spitz can tolerate cold weather but, as it was bred as a companion dog, prefers to live in the house with the warmth of its human family. [11] Though they can live in apartments, they need some time running around outside off-leash in a safe environment. The Japanese Spitz is known to like the sound of their own voice a little too much which can turn into a problem if not gently corrected early on in a dog's life. With this said some dogs just cannot resist barking for the sake of it anyway. Do Japanese Spitz like water?
