Things get worse whilst Mr majeika is trapped when Wilhelmina Worlock takes the opportunity to turn Class Three's classroom into a circus and the children spend all afternoon running away from lions and alligators! Mr Majeika is the title of a series of children's books, written by Humphrey Carpenter and published between 1984 and 2006. It also contains a vocabulary check immediately after the extract is read to clarify any unfamiliar/ difficult language. Baxter sought to maintain the secrecy around his sexual orientation, with his biography describing how he had taken legal action over the posthumous publication of Kenneth Williams' diaries after Williams, a long-time friend, died in 1988. Baxter was known for his impressions of famous people, particularly The Queen (referred to in the context of the shows as 'the Duchess of Brendagh').

At home materials Year 3 Week 1 to 4 - Herne Junior School

The program s set in a British preparatory school which is essentially a private school at the primary level. Readers interested in British preparatoty schools may want to look at the book and e-Books available through Apertures Press. He has been a wizard for years and has forgotten most of his spells, so he wants to be an ordinary teacher and asks three boys to help him. We do know he wrote the The Oxford Companion to Children's Literature, his major study which was published to great acclaim. This story is really funny as Mr Majeika ends up having to make the school dinners and he makes real toad in the hole for lunch on Friday which was really silly. I hope it will give people who have never seen the show a taste of what this wonderful series is all about, and remind those of you who remember it, some things you may have forgotten. I originally used this with Year 2-3 children, although with minor adaptations it could feasibly be used with slightly younger and older year groups. A recurring character is Wilhelmina Worlock, a witch who first appeared as a music teacher and has turned up regularly since in various disguises. School without magic seems rather boring and Mr Majeika doesn't last long in the other jobs he tries.
