During testing, we loved how lightweight the texture felt and how well it worked to add shine to the lengths of our hair. It’s worth noting that some online reviewers say if you use more than a few drops, it can look a bit heavy in the hair. So if you have fine hair, keep this in mind.

If required, wood can be stained prior to oiling with Liberon Palette Wood Dye, or an alternative wood stain. Ensure the surface to be oiled is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants. Wood oils penetrate the timber, replacing and replenishing the wood's natural oils to add protection. Mineral oil is a good choice for wooden cutting surfaces such as chopping boards since it is a nontoxic oil. To give the wood a more water-resistant finish, we recommend using beeswax as a seal.We have some great blog posts about Tung Oil if you want to learn more. A good starting point is our blog What is Tung Oil, and if you're unsure Tung Oil is the right oil for your needs, Tung Oil vs Danish Oil might help you. Use the Natural colour over Fusion Mineral Paint™ colours to increase the sheen and offer superior durability, or brush on one of the pigmented colours and wipe off immediately for a beautiful, easy glaze effect. Hardwax oil can give a superior finish to interior wooden floors and furniture. It has a tougher protective coating when compared to other wood oils. Hardwood oils form a highly durable barrier on soft and hardwoods against water, stains, heat, dirt and wear and tear. Harddax oils such as Osmo Polyx Oil Original creates a wood finish that combinethe advantages of natural oils and waxes in one extremely fast drying product. Surfaces may be cleaned using a damp cloth and spills should be wiped up immediately. For stubborn stains a mild detergent can be used. Surfaces need to be re-oiled once a year or more, depending upon usage. Reclaimed wood, bare wood, table tops, floors, most any surface, painted finish or Milk Painted pieces.

The Gloss version of Hard Wax Oil will build to a bright gloss finish after 2–3 coats. Rub down lightly between coats with a fine abrasive. Once hard dry (allow at least 24 hours) it can be brought to an even brighter shine using either the Buffing Wheel System or Burnishing Cream. Spills should be wiped up immediately using a damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used for stubborn stains. For use on all interior wood/turned woodwork. Ideal for kitchen tables, work tops and bathroom furniture which all require a hard wearing and water resistant finish. All oils are suitable for use on woodturning projects and the one you chose should be based on the desired look and finish you want. Toys – Danish Oil When finishing pine, we recommend using a raw linseed oil. This type of oil will not contaminate food substances, which is perfect for pine dining tables. Watermarks are often caused by a surface that is not well sealed, which means that the product has not been properly applied or the surface has not been properly prepared. We recommend using a tung oil for oak surfaces. This type of oil will maintain the oak's colour as well as character. However, if you would like to darken the oak, hardwax oil is more ideal. Another popular oil for oak is danish oil. This type of oil can bring out the rich tones in the wood as well as preventing surface stains.

If you are planning on staining your wood before applying oil, it is best to use a water-based stain. If you use an oil-based stain, it will seal the wood and will therefore not be able to absorb the wood oil. Wood Oil Or Wood Varnish? To get an indication of how the wood will look once oiled, test a similar piece of wood or discrete area by applying a wet cloth to the bare wood. There are also mixtures sold as finishing oils. These are classed as 'long oils', predominantly oil with some varnish added or as 'short oils' which are predominantly varnish, with some oil. [2] Danish oil is a popular long oil finishing oil. Spar varnish is a short oil varnish, used for added flexibility and elasticity.Store Liberon Finishing Oil at a temperature above 5 °C. Always replace the lid otherwise the oil can deteriorate. Using hair oil can be a great way to add shine and light reflection to dull hair. If that’s your main goal, then this is one a great option for you. The lightweight formula utilizes the power of hemisqualane—squalane derived from sugarcane—instead of silicone (which can create residue on the hair over time) to strengthen your strands. Hemisqualane works to strengthen the hair over time, while other ingredients in the formula, like meadowfoam esters and hibiscus extract, provide gloss, moisture, and antioxidant protection. If you struggle with dry or damaged ends due to bleaching or excessive use of hot tools, this is a great option for you because it's formulated with moisturizing oils, like argan and camellia oil, which can help smooth the appearance of breakage and frayed ends. It can be used before or after styling to smooth and nourish the hair, and we love that it has just a slight floral fragrance that isn’t at all overpowering. We found that it helped reduce frizz and make our hair appear healthier and more smooth. We could feel a bit of residue on our hair and our hands, but considering how well it helps to improve damaged hair, this isn’t a major concern for us.
