Australia only; 2 Brands of Habanos, a 50:50 joint venture between Imperial Tobacco and Cubatabaco; 3 50% share; 4 formerly, "Commonwealth Brands" According to Edward Simon, the chief marketing officer at Oettinger Davidoff AG, the inspiration behind the new Zino brand comes from individuals who embrace a lifestyle and mindset centred around experiences, open-mindedness, and an insatiable curiosity.

DAVIDOFF – Zest for life | DAVIDOFF

In 1924 Zino Davidoff travelled in Argentina, Brazil and Cuba, where he spent two years gaining experience of the cigar trade. He returned to Switzerland taking control of the family shop about 1930. He is credited with inventing a desktop humidifier in which cigars could be kept at the same degree of humidity and temperature as in Cuba. His business expanded during the Second World War where, when trade of all kinds was disrupted, he provided one of the few channels through which leaders on both sides of the conflict could obtain quality cigars.

Cuban Connections

In 1991, the limited release called "Aniversario" became an ongoing cigar series, called the "Aniversario" series. In 1992, the "Special" cigar series was released, with the format "Special R" as the first product. In 1994, the 87-year-old Zino Davidoff died in Geneva, Switzerland. Sometimes I am glad that my mister doesn't wear colognes per se so that there is no competing over bottles! I always get a compliment of approval when a spray a wee bit of Zino on my person. I just smelled something very similar on a passing woman the other day so there is something to this! The cigar starts changing, growing milder, alongside the appearance of an enjoyable sweetness. The aroma becomes milder and flavours of roasted coffee beans and dark, bitter chocolate make themselves known. The cigar develops a creaminess at the end of the second third. The brand Davidoff is licensed to French-American company Coty, Inc. for the fragrances business, [7] to Menrad for the eyewear business, [8] to German coffee chain Tchibo for the coffee business, [9] and to Thomas Hine & Co. for the cognac business. [10] History [ edit ] Davidoff Café bottle In the 1990s, the Davidoff writing instruments and the Davidoff coffee were launched. [18] At the beginning of the 2000s, the new Davidoff logo – the same which can be seen on the Davidoff products today – was implemented. [19]

Very nice article Sergey! I'll take one of the first model to gaze at all day long and I will also take another bottle of Zino. I just wore some the other day. Yes I am a woman and yes I've loved Zino for a very long time. If you have any affection for barbershops like Rive Gauche, Paco Rabanne PH or Azzaro PH, you absolutely must try this. Oettinger Davidoff AG manufactures cigars, cigarillos, pipe tobaccos and smoker's accessories under the brands Davidoff, Camacho and Zino Platinum. The cigars are produced in the Dominican Republic and Honduras, and tobacco is sourced from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Honduras and the United States of America. Imperial Brands has owned the Davidoff cigarette brand name since purchasing it in 2006. The cigars were rolled in the newly established El Laguito factory in Havana, which had been established to roll Cuban President Fidel Castro's own personal cigars, named Cohíba. In 1971, the Davidoff "Mini Cigarillos" (short fillers made of 100% tobacco) and, in 1972, the first Davidoff pipe tobaccos were released. As of 1975, the cigars of the Château series were delivered in cabinets bearing the Davidoff logo. I knew that this amazing juice was discontinued for at least 2 years or more. It's a shame that the industry has moved away from a cologne/purfume that has a decent range without breaking the bank. Most current mainstream stuff with an affordable price point is meant to be disposable. Think of how many people are investing in a good quality furniture or appliances? Most are buying in the NOW, in time it will discarded and that's what these companies want so they can increase their profits instead of spending a few dollars more to maintain the quality you expect. Instead the ingredients used today are often substandard with more synthetic and still costing everyone more. Forget about a niche fragrances.

Fragrances | DAVIDOFF

Zino Davidoff, a pioneering figure in the world of tobacco, embarked on a quest for knowledge and worldly encounters at the tender age of 19 - With the creation of the new Zino cigar brand, Davidoffs goal was to capture Zino Davidoff's spirit of exploration and his ability to fully embrace the present moment. In 1968, the first cigars carrying the name "Davidoff" were released. The first formats were the No. 1, the No. 2 and the Ambassadrice. In 1970, Oettinger AG, located in Basel, Switzerland, acquired the rights to the Davidoff trademark.Lovely, creamy white smoke. A solid, flawless burn and ash that required no touch ups. Rich flavours of dark chocolate, coffee and salted nuts sensitise the palette and a hint of pepper and spices on the retrohale, but nowhere near being a pepper bomb. Only criticism is that the draw was a little restrictive initially but still gave you what you needed. Loosened up near the end of the first third though to a more comfortable draw. Customers become friends as they share cigars and forget the strain of wartime. King Farouk of Egypt, Baron Rothschild, writer Orson Welles and actress Gina Lollobrigida follow their love of fine cigars to Zino’s door.
