Murder Your Employer: The McMasters Guide to Homicide has a bit of mystery, a smidgen of mayhem, a splash of dry humor, and a dash of murder. The first chunk of the book is actually just that, with some additional quotes and info from the dean. We wind up following three different students as they negotiate the difficulties of McMasters campus and student body.

Cliff undertakes many of the courses needed to better understand the art of murder and how to effectively target those who deserve to be extinguished. We follow three protagonists who for very different reasons want/need to become “deletists” (NEVER “murderers”), and follow them as they learn secrets of the craft at the McMasters Conservatory of Applied Arts.

The second half sees our three main characters back in their home environments ready to carry out the deletion. We are introduced to our main character Cliff Iverson when he attempts unsuccessfully to kill his horrible boss. This is actually a pretty interesting and entertaining murder mystery where the mystery is not who dies or who dunnit; it’s how the would be ‘deletist’ (we don’t say ‘killer’ here) will achieve their goal while not getting caught and still observing the 4 main principles of ‘deletion’ (we don’t’ say ‘murder’): Is this murder necessary? It follows 1 main character and 2 other potential murderers as they take their courses and learn how to correct past mistakes.
