There's huge heartache still to come for Ruby, and she will need her Beach View family more than ever. It can get a bit over sentimental at times, I'm not keen on this in books but the story makes up for it. Meanwhile evacuee Ruby Clark has much to contend with when her estranged mother turns up, having completed a long prison sentence. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Biography: Ellie Dean lives in a tiny hamlet set deep in the heart of the South Downs in Sussex, which has been her home for many years and where she raised her three children.

Poor Jim had to get used to civilian life and Daisy was very wary of Him as he was in competition for her Mum's attention and a stranger in her young life. Poor Peggy has a lot to put up, what with Jim, Ron up to his old tricks again, looking after her youngest child Daisy and helping to look after the family when her daughter Anne has her baby and also being there for Ruby whose Mother Ethel has come back to Cliffehaven after being sent to prison. As always, Ellie Dean has brought to life the characters of Cliffehaven that I have grown to love in the past 18 books. Reading about Jim's experience in Burma with the Chindits made me think of my dear late father Bob who was in the Chindits and fought in Burma and India like Jim he never spoke of what he went through, men in those days came home from war and were expected to get on with their lives but like Jim a lot of them found it very difficult and it was also very difficult for the wives like Peggy. I have loved reading this series from the start it has been well written and at times has kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next in the seaside town of Cliffehaven. I was pleased to see that Ellie Dean is back writing about these lovely characters and really enjoyed this new book. How good was it to meet up again with Peggy, Cordelia, Ron, Jim, Rosie and the others from the Cliffehaven series. Ron and Rosie have moved into their new house but things are not easy for them and they need a good heart to heart. I look forward to the next book to be released in March 2024 I have read all 18 books in the Cliffhaven series and have enjoyed everyone of them.We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.
