There is no doubt that Moxley wrote this book himself. If you've ever heard him in a podcast you will know that the book is written in his voice. I don't care much about Jon Moxley, I find him unecessary edgy, sloppy, unfinished, try hard, so throghouly entrenched in an aesthetic framework that I can't find compelling nor entertaining. Just like this book. But I'll never call Jon Moxley a bad wrestler because at the end of this book, even though I doubted his sincerity and was annoyed at his corniness, I felt Jon Moxley was real.

I appreciate how honest and upfront Moxley is about his personal trials and demons. I hope the man behind the book is doing well on his continuing journey of keeping them in control and finding the proper and hopefully safe ways to express himself and enjoy life. One of my favorite parts about Mox is the tangents Moxley goes on between chapters about his life and career, such as: A lot of fans are very critical of professional wrestling autobiographies. They want just the facts. They say that due to the nature of the sport you never really know how much of what you're reading is real and how much of it is performance. You gotta accept that it's probably a little bit of both or else you're a dreaded 'mark' (which is carnie talk for someone who's not on the inside). i think what i love most about this book is that you can just tell that mox wrote it himself and didn’t use a ghost writer. the way the text flows is basically a transcript of the way he speaks. This autobiography will work especially well for wrestling and Jon Moxley fans, but I think it will provide a fascinating and worthwhile look into a unique individual’s life for any reader. It’s a messy book that perfectly captures the messy life of Jon Moxley.This book was kind of a hot mess. Many have commented that it sounds like Mox is talking straight to you, complete with wild tangents, and that is true, but this is not necessarily a good thing for a book. Mox isn't as good as either of J.R.'s books. Moxley isn't as good of a storyteller. But he is very charismatic, and that charisma shines through in his writing.

There isn’t a lot in here about his time in AEW if you’re looking for insight into his nearly year-long title reign. He speaks candidly about his work with Brodie Lee surrounding their title program at 2020’s Double or Nothing, and the awful conclusion to the Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match with Kenny but nothing really about his programs with MJF or Eddie, which I would have liked. That being said, I think it may be a little premature for Moxley’s story. It jumps around a lot, which was kind of annoying.

Moxley reminds me of kids I went to high school with in the late 90s. He wants to appear tough. He wants to be an outcast. He seems to relish being different. I can see how his personality may come across as obnoxious to some, but he reminds me of a simpler time in life -- and the people I knew during that time. While this book was a master class in showing personality and being an all-around tough guy, it’s not without its flaws. Remember how I said that Jon Moxley isn’t a professionally-trained author? Well, that means he’s going to make a lot of typos when he writes and he’s not going to notice them. There are instances of question marks and periods being together. He swaps between using F’n and the actual curse word. Some of the misspellings make sense because of his rough personality, but it’s so inconsistent that no sane editor would let it slide. You know what else the editor wouldn’t let slide? Starting a sentence midway through it without typing the actual beginning. That’s how he introduces an interlude where he talks about one of his favorite songs: no capitalization at the beginning because there is no beginning, only a middle. Had the editor done a better job of cleaning up these discrepancies, I would have readily given this book a perfect five out of five. But the constant typos bumped it down a notch for me.
