Stainless Steel poles - very sturdy and hardwearing, offering increased strength for large structures. Amazing, in the Lake District with friends and there was torrential rain and our friend just whipped this out, put it together and we were fine. You have to be quite regimented when putting this up and use the guiding rope ensuring your distances are correct. It has faired quite well but the pole springs are starting to become very loose and look like they will snap soon. My only mild criticism is that although the fabric is waterproof, it's a big surface area, and its shallow slopes and high tension against the poles means that the structure lends itself to allowing rain to collect on the surface and drip through.
