I really like my friends reaction when i am asked about this perfume and i tell them that is a Diesel! For me, its crap, and I keep trying to wear and toss my samples and they breed like rabbits, refill and reappear. I do get the Playboy London comparisons which I have as well and this has more woods to it and it's a bit rougher on the edges. I don't detect the anise per say, although I have a feeling it is contributing to the "cool effect" of the scent, because the scent does feel very cool. My daughter has been trying to find Diesel Fuel for a long time, and was delighted to receive the Eau de Parfum Spray.Very modern vibe, reminds me of a very modern young man dressed up fashionably in the catwalk session. A fruity, woody men's fragrance with notes of grapefruit, lavender, raspberry, helitrope, patchouli and amber. It is somehow characteristic and for now I weirdly havent met any fragrance closely simmilar to FFL at least for my nose.
