But I can only report what I see, which is that the picture routinely looks higher in resolution than the HD Blu-ray.

We were thinking on hunting for the BD Steelbook editions, but since we were planning on switching to 4K for some time now, therefore we chose to wait for a full set of the 4K edition. But it’ll be worth the effort, because there have been few examples of Blu-ray living up to its promise the way it does here. This 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray box set contains a total of 33 Discs (23 BD-100s, 7 BD-66s, 3 BD-50s) and houses hours upon hours of bonus material (15 to be exact) not to mention the complete 73 episodes (75 hours worth) in pristine 4K Ultra HD picture and Dolby Atmos surround sound plus a redemption code for Digital Copies to enjoy anywhere you want.

Finally, Season Eight was available on Blu-ray at Target and Walmart with exclusive bonus discs that added How the Storm Was Born and From Renderings to Reality: The Visual Effects of Season 8 respectively. I apologize to everyone out there who bought Seasons 1 and 8 on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format because you’re kind of double dipping. So here’s what this 33-disc set looks like with its protective sheath of plastic still protecting its contents.palpable renditions of fortress masonry or things like the wood grain patterns on some of the ships. So if you want that scene as originally broadcast, you’ll want to hang onto that first Blu-ray set in particular. By the time Season Four arrived, Arri was well established and fully-digital workflows were far more common.

Also, the collection fixes most of the problems the original run had with inaccurate black levels that lead to loss of detail, notably several nighttime battle scenes people took issue with towards the end of the series. The 30-minute ‘making of’ feature is pleasingly substantial too, and while other featurettes - covering such stuff as the creation of the Dothraki language, the opening credits sequence and the process of adapting such a huge story for the screen - are much briefer, they still add up to an informative set of goodies overall. There’s nice detail in the mix; lots of little sound cues move around the soundstage with a precision that’s just not there in the previous DTS-HD mix on Blu-ray. It’s also what you’ve been waiting for to truly flex the muscles of your home cinema projector and dedicated 4K UHD Blu-ray player. Before we move onto unboxing things here I do want to provide you with URL links to each and every season of my coverage of this series (plus Sean Ferguson’s take on Season 1).The dynamic range of this surround track feels like you’re climbing the highest peaks of Everest and want to shout it to the world. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. This is the never-before-seen story of the tumultuous events that shaped the world of Westeros thousands of years before the series start. Die 20 Euro, die das Produkt als Grossbritannien- Import billiger ist, zahlt man als Zollgebühren hinterher drauf, eine unschöne Überraschung.

One last thing I had to admire as I revisited the series for this review is just how quickly and effectively it establishes the memorable tone that will endure throughout Game Of Thrones’ subsequent six series.I decided to purchase it so we could watch the complete series and also have it so we can watch again in a couple of years when we get the itch again.
