What makes the Andy Carpenter series so great (besides Andy’s sarcastic dry humor - which I love!) is that solving the crimes is always a team effort and the way the crimes are solved is complete genius and takes McGyver-esque moments that just made me smile. This is only my second novel by David Rosenfelt and I enjoyed it even more than the last and can’t wait to read more books in this series! I think my favorite character has to be Andy's wife. She is intelligent, sassy and a bit extra. Bigger than life. She put a lot of fun into the plot. I love the front cover art. The cute dachshund on the front is what first made me want to read this book! :) This is an absorbing detective story with a challenging client, and complicated adversaries, however, when the chips are down, Carpenter rises to the occasion with excellent intuition, focused investigative skills, and brilliant (in his opinion) legal tactics to save the day for all. Whatever day you choose to hang mistletoe, now is the time to find your women's Christmas jumpers or sweaters to ensure you are the best dressed at any Xmas party or stand out when the camera flashes on December 25th.

Rosenfelt's courtroom scenes are a pleasure to read. They are well presented and honest, even when the client is decidedly unusual. He creates an excellent analogy likening a court case to a mountain climb such as Mt. Everest, and through it introduces the rest of Andy's quirky and memorable team. Rosenfelt’s characters are affable, relaxed, likeable, and yet focused and diligent when necessary. The first person narrative by Carpenter is a little self-deprecating, a little sarcastic, very humorous, and always focused on his dogs, other peoples’ dogs, and, actually, just the wellbeing of dogs in general.IWOOT has you covered if you're looking for early gift ideas for mum or want to wow and win first place in the best Xmas jumper competition. Thank you to Joseph Brosnan at Minotaur Books and David Rosenfelt for an arc in exchange for an honest review. For those of you who enjoy them, we have plenty of puns to get you in the festive spirit this season. There's something for everyone, from the extremely cringe-worthy to the simply amusing.

Andy Carpenter is a defence lawyer. He prefers to spend time with his dog rescue foundation and with family and his 2 pet dogs Being independently wealthy, he only accepts legal cases if there is somehow a dog involved. The author. David Rosenfelt, the author of the series, also runs a dog rescue service, has over two dozen pet dogs, and has rescued 4,000 animals. I am so fond of this series. It's uplifting, fun, engaging, and full of animals and characters who are well written and believable. I really like it that Andy is trying to do his (sometimes imperfect) best in a world that can be cold and unfeeling. This book left me with a warm fuzzy feeling and was a perfect cold weather read with the holiday theme and justice prevailing and all that. Happiness began with the news of a new andy Carpenter being released. A smile started when I received this new release in my hands. And then I began the latest Andy Carpenter book (on CD). I did manage to find the time to marry and have two children, both of whom are doing very well, and fortunately neither have inherited my eccentricities. This book which contains legal drama and high stakes criminal investigation is the 20th in the Andy Carpenter series. This is only the 5th I have read, but I intend to read more. Narrated by Andy, I always enjoy his witty, sardonic sense of humour and his sarcastic thoughts and conversations. The story includes alternative POVs but only when needed to move the plot forward by characters other than the protagonist. Rosenfelt creates a plot which seems simple but grows into something more complicated and more dangerous as it progresses. Be aware; despite the cute dog on the cover, this is not a cozy. Rosenfelt does like his body count, but the scenes aren't particularly gory. He is also very good at the unexpected, and very effective, plot twist, and a fun mention which lightens the situation. These are books you love for the characters. And I love that Laurie is able to twirl Andy around her little finger and he knows it.

I have gotten to this dubious position with absolutely no planning, and at no stage in my life could I have predicted it. But here I am. Instead of dragging out that dusty old tops from a million years ago, up your game with a variety of clothing to fit your style, whether you're looking for a trendy sweater that isn't too embarrassing or you and the girls are going all out with funny women's Christmas jumpers to make some memories the next time you get out. When Do You Start Feeling Festive?

Dachshund Through the Snow" is a well-done legal mystery with plenty of twists and suspense. A very nice aftermath hints at the future of the series. I can't believe that this is the 20th installment to the Andy Carpenter series! This is definitely a great addition to the series - as always Andy's humorous narration combines nicely with a twisting plot that holds some genuine surprises. Plus, this time there are two new dogs - Andy represents one dog in court, and then later represents the owner of the titular dachshund in a murder conviction.
