Description

She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. The fact that it's unexpected for you as the reader is very important because it's also unexpected for the heroine.

With its raw honesty and thought-provoking narrative, It Ends With Us challenges societal norms and pushes the boundaries of conventional romance, leaving readers contemplating the power of forgiveness and the choices we make in the name of love. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his no dating rule, she cant help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. Lily moves on with her life, graduates college, yada yada, and, as mentioned above, meet-cutes super creeper Mr. This beautifully written novel explores the power of timing, forgiveness, and second chances, reminding us that love can truly conquer all. Colleen Hoover, a name that resonates with readers around the world, is a literary powerhouse who has taken the contemporary romance genre by storm.

There is no black and white characterization - it's much deeper and more complex than that, and therefore, far more emotional. It was my outlet, my excuse for the tears that wouldn't go away, the tears that kept falling despite my desperate protest. I went into this book thinking it was going to be this one thing, and it turned out to be the complete opposite. But I kept reading and once I hit that chapter (and if you have read it you know exactly what I am talking about) I couldn’t put it down.

As a Social Care Worker, I’ve studied the reality of domestic violence and was interested to see how it was portrayed in the book. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lilys life seems too good to be true. And later on we discover that Ryle also had an emotional trauma in his early childhood which has left him scarred too – which explains a lot about him and it’s a clever reveal when we do get to find out about his past. and as you read more, these pieces of the story come together forming a scenario that gives such a raw, honest portrayal of an incredibly relevant issue. I am not saying that he is redeemable by any means, only that part of the violence can be due to an unintentional factor.
